What Camera To Bring For Peace Corps

best camera to bring as a peace corps volunteer?

I'thou leaving for Madagascar in February, and want to purchase a camera to bring with me. I've heard things like 'don't bring something too nice/big/ect. cause information technology will get stolen' don't spend too much cause it will probably interruption or something, ect. I'thousand looing to spend preferably less than 500$

I desire a camera that will accept good pictures though, any recommendations? I'm sure I'grand not the only one thinking near this

From my experience traveling, a good phone is the best camera.

But if yous want really loftier quality pics and actual zoom function and so go something that can be charged past USB, not something with its own charging brick, you lot do not want to lug that around and withal non able to get accuse becasue of various factor. USB in universal even in a hamlet in the middle of nowhere.

I love my Olympus Tough Camera. Waterproof and shock/crush-proof. Takes cracking photos and videos. And it also has a selfie flip screen. It's also not overly expensive-looking.

I highly recommend waterproof cameras if you're living anywhere with a rainy season.

Keep in mind your wifi state of affairs if uploading for friends and family is a priority. I have a dainty point and shoot camera, but I primarily ended up using my phone because my data connexion allows me to upload to Facebook...

I would second this, I brought a Panasonic mirror less camera and it by and large collects grit. I found that the phone I brought has a much better camera than I expected and accept been using it near exclusively.

Canon rebel. Love it. My safari pictures are incredible. Cost nearly $300.
